BYE BYE TO REPROACH

  TOPIC: BYE BYE TO REPROACH

PREACHER: PASTOR J.T KALEJAIYE

By reproach, we mean something that causes disgrace or brings shame upon someone. Simply put, a reproach is a problem. Sometimes, it defiles medical or human solution.
·         There is physical reproach
·          There is marital reproach
·         There is financial reproach
·         There is spiritual reproach etc
I have goodnews for you, Joshua 5:9 says “And the Lord said unto Joshua, this day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you” you will not go back with your reproach in Jesus name.
There are problems that REFINE people. These are good problems and they make people better and not bitter…
1.  A problem is considered good, if it leads to a Miracle
2.  A problem is considered good, if it leads one to Christ
3.  A problem is considered good, if it creates or provokes good problems. For example, in Luke 5:1-10. Peter had a good problem, He could not carry his net catch alone, so he bacon on his friends to assist hm.
4.  You have a good problem when people begin to envy you.
Just as there are problems that refine people, there are problems that also DEFINE people. The problems that define people are problems that are used to describe the carriers or the victim.
For example, in John 5:2-9, a man co-existed with a certain problem/reproach/infirmity for 38years. This man had a name but the Bible defined or described or introduced him as “a certain man which had an infirmity thirty and eight years”. The man’s problem/reproach took away his identity. Not even one of his names was mentioned.
Another example is in Mark 10:46-52, Blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeu had a reproach/problem that defined him. Whenever people wanted to refer to him, they always called or described him as blind Bartimaeus or the blind man.   The good news here is that one day, he encountered Jesus and the problem expired.

Mark 5:25-35 gave us an account of another woman; she had a problem/reproach that took away her identity. She had a name but whenever people wanted to refer to her, they used the reproach in her life to define/describe her. She was popularly called “the woman with the issue of blood”. The problem this woman had consumed her body and her purse, yet there was no improvement, her condition got bitter and not better. But, the day she touched Jesus, the problem of 12years expired.
Acts 3:1-10, gave us the report of a man. He was introduced as a “certain man, lame from his mother’s womb”. This man just like the other examples, he had a name but his physical deformity took away his identity. People used the problem in his life to define/describe him. He was an object of pity. The man had a reproach that shared the same birthday with him (about 40years old)- Acts 4:22
He also had an encountered with God through Peter (God’s representative), his problem of forty years expired.
Take a look at Matthew 17: 14-18 here is an account of a man (the affected) who went to Jesus to seek help on behalf of his lunatic son (the infected). The man had a problem because his son had a mental problem. Whenever people wanted to refer to him, they called him the father of a mad boy. He wasn’t sick, but his loved one was sick and that had an effect on him. He sort for Jesus’ help and his lunatic son was healed immediately. Is there a reproach in the life of any of your children? Are you affected because someone is infected? In the name of Jesus you will have an encounter that will tune that situation around in Jesus name.
Ten people went to Jesus for help Luke 17: 12-19, they were introduced as lepers. People used the reproach in their lives to describe them. They all carried an evil load. Guess what? they were all cleansed despite the fact that Jesus knew that nine of them would be ungrateful, he still healed/cured/delivered/set them free.
