TEXT: LUKE 7:11-15
PREACHER: PASTOR J.T. KALEJAIYE
There is
hope for you, therefore don’t panic. Don’t quit and don’t give up.
Humanly
speaking, some situations are considered hopeful, some are considered doubtful
and some are considered hopeless.
Whether your
situation is considered doubtful or hopeless, there’s still hope for you.
ANY PROOF?
YES
-
There is hope for you because you’re still alive
-
There is hope for you because the God we serve
is a God of possibility – Luke 1:37, Luke 18:37, Jeremiah 32:27.
-
There is hope for you because you have confessed
it : Sometimes confession provokes possession – Proverbs 18:21, Numbers 14:28b
According to
the passage, a widow received four(4) visitations; two of the visitations were
pleasant while the remaining two were unpleasant.
-
Visitation 1: Death visited the widow and took
away her only son.
-
Visitation 2: People went to her house just to
pay her a condolence visit.
-
Visitation 3: Jesus visited them on their way to
the cemetery; he touched the coffin and the content arose.
-
Visitation 4: After the restoration of the dead
child, many people visited the widow in order to congratulate her.
After Jesus touched the coffin, the
following happened;
-
The dead man arose, the woman recovered her dead
son - The hopeless situation was reversed.
-
The people turned back; there was no need to go
to the cemetery again.
-
Those who were waiting for the arrival of the
corpse at the cemetery all waited in vain.
-
The people sang new songs.
-
Their mood changed. Jesus turned their sorrow to
joy – Psalm 30:5.
-
The widow put off mourning garment and she put
on a celebration /the garment of Joy.
