Beautiful But Ugly

TOPIC: BEAUTIFUL BUT UGLY
TEXT: ACTS 3:1-8
PREACHER: PASTOR J.T. KALEJAIYE

This may sound funny but it is a possibility.
It is possible to stay in UK without being ok.
It is possible to have a very good grade/result without having a good job.
It is possible to put on a beautiful garment without having money/peace.
It is possible to be in a beautiful location and still remain ugly; this was the case of a man who was laid daily at the
beautiful gate; the gate was beautiful but the man’s deformity made him ugly.

The passage revealed many things about a man who was born lame;
1.       The man was crippled for 40years (Acts 4:22). He was crippled physically, financially, martially, spiritually, materially, academically. Some people are not crippled physically but they are crippled financially. Some are crippled martially, in other words, they endure instead of enjoy their marriage.
2.       The man lost his original identity. He had a problem that defined him. People refer to him as a crippled beggar or a lame man. Problems can define as well as refine.
PRAYER: Every problem that defined you up till this moment will receive a divine solution in Jesus’ name.
3.       The man’s deformity turned him to a beggar.
4.       The man was very close to the temple but he was outside. He was limited to the gate area. Proximity but no encounter.
5.       The man was in the class of expectation.
6.       The man discovered his Peter (helper) before his story changed. There must be a discovery before a recovery. Peter was a man of God but to the cripple, Peter was a man from God.

What happened after the lame man encountered Peter (his helper)?

1.       The man received his miracle.
2.       He moved out of stagnation/limitation.
3.       The man praised God.
4.       The man entered the temple for the fist time.
5.       God exceeded his expectation; he wanted money but God gave him what money cannot buy (healing).
6.       The man moved from the class of expectation to the class of realization.

PRAYER POINTS
1.       Father, thank you for all you’ve done for me.
2.       Father, I need help, please send my Peter (Helper) to me in Jesus’ name.
