TOPIC: DIVINE PROVISION

TEXT: 1 KINGS 17:8-16

According to the passage, God sustained Elijah and a widow of Zeraphath during the time of famine. A time of famine is a time of dryness, it is a time when people eat what thy see and not what they desire. But according to Job 5:20 and 22, there is goodnews.  The above passage contains some revelations about the ability of God.

1.       God is a Provider: He is Jehovah Jireh. He provided for Elijah in the time of need, He also provided an overflow of Blessings to the widow. In year 2016, God will provide every good thing you desire in Jesus’ name. Matthew 6:25-33. Christ is all you need in order to meet all your needs. If you rest in Him,

He will take care of the rest.

2.       God is a commander: He commanded the Ravens to take food to Elijah twice daily. In I Kings 17:9, God commanded a poor widow to sustain Elijah.

 PRAYER: Throughout this year, God will command your blessings to locate you in Jesus’ name.

3.       God cares: Elijah was alone but he wasn’t lonely, God was it him. The widow was alone but she wasn’t lonely. Those who commit everything into God’s hands will always see His hands in everything. Psalm 37:5, 1 Peter 5:7.

4.       God is a convener/He Arranges Meeting: God arranged the meeting between Elijah and the poor widow. Through the widow, Elijah was sustained and through Elijah, the widow was blessed. In Genesis 41:14-46, God arranged a meeting between Joseph and King Pharaoh. Through King Pharaoh, Joseph was blessed and through Joseph, Pharaoh and hid kingdom were blessed. God also arranged a meeting between Joseph and the chief Butler, through Joseph, the Butler received an interpretation to his dream and through the Butler, and Joseph’s dream of greatness was fulfilled. Genesis 40.

PRAYER: In this year, 2016, God will arrange a meeting between you and your helpers in Jesus’ name.

5.       God can use anyone/anything to help you: He used the ravens to take food to Elijah. He equally used a poor widow to sustain Elijah. Please don’t look down on anybody because God can use anyone for you.

PRAYER: Throughout this year, God will sustain you and your household in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINTS

1.       Father, this year, please bless me and turn me to a blessing in Jesus’ name.

2.       Father, please let my Elijah (helper) locate me and bless me in Jesus’ name.

3.       Father, please terminate dry season in my life in Jesus’ name.
