Pastor J.T. Kalejaiye: The Ministry Of Pride
TOPIC: THE MINISTRY OF
PRIDE
PREACHER: PASTOR J.T. KALEJAIYE
It is not a
local or national ministry, it is an international ministry. Many people are
employees in this unprofitable or ungodly ministry.
Pride means
unreasonable and inordinate self-esteem personified as one of the deadly sins.
Beauty, money, position, academic attainment, talents or gifts etc; any of
these can give one an automatic employment into the ministry of pride.
Satan uses
this ministry as a tool to
destroy the employee.
Anyone that
is proud is an employee of the ministry of pride…
How can we identify those who are proud?
1.
Proud people always look down on other people:
They believe they are better than others e.g in Luke 18:10-14, the Pharisee
looked down the publican.
2.
Proud people always crave attention: They want
to be noticed, they want to be recognized. They like titles too much.
3.
Proud people always take the glory due to God:
King Herold took the glory and immediately, the Angel of the Lord smote him and
he became food for the worms – Acts 12:23.
4.
Proud people always use I, ,me, without me, I
made him, etc: In Daniel 4:30, King Nebuchadnezzar was a perfect example and
according to verse 31, he faced the consequence.
5.
Proud people always want people to idolize or
worship them: Haman tried it with Mordecai; not only was he disgraced, he
equally carried his evil load.
The Dangers of Pride
1.
Pride is a forerunner of destruction- Proverbs
16:18a, Proverbs 15:25a.
2.
Pride brings down people – Proverbs 29:23,
Isaiah 2:12, Daniel 4:37b
3.
Pride and shame are close partners: they move
together – Proverbs 11:2.
4.
Pride provokes divine rewards – Psalm 31:23.
5.
Pride is an abomination – Proverbs 16:5, James
4:6
In
conclusion, read and meditate on Jeremiah 13:15
