Pastor (Mrs.) Kalejaiye - What A Privilege

Topic: What A Privilege
Text: John 4:6-10, 13-15
Preacher: Pastor (Mrs.) Kalejaiye

What’s a privilege? A special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group. It’s a special favor or benefit or right made available to only a few.

We should always and constantly remind ourselves of the many privileges God had given to us and they shouldn’t be taken for granted.

It is not expressly used in the Bible, but it was used in exchange for another word which is GRACE.

Grace is what is used in the Bible, but inside of privilege, you have Grace.

Grace gives us the blessings we don’t deserve. Grace is also made available for all but only a few tap into it.

God will give your life the privilege to make it better.

Majority of us get to know each other through the privilege of knowing Jesus.

God knows you and God knows your helper and those your life need and it is a privilege to meet them and know them.

That you can speak and people won’t shout you down but listen to you; it is a privilege.

It is a privilege that you were born to those parents. I wonder why some people will go and hire parents to represent them in an event, when their own biological parents are still alive.

For the children God gave you, it is a privilege.

That your education level, achievements, status in life, they are all privileges. Don’t think it is your power that made you wealth.

For the gift of the Holy Spirit that you exhibit, it is a privilege.

For talent, hard work and knowledge, it is the privilege that God Almighty has given.

Don’t take God's privilege for granted, so it won’t be taken away from you.

Romans 9:15-16; It is God's Mercy, Grace and Compassion that has made you.

Whatever you have, it is to the Glory of God.

Tables can turn; a rich man can become poor but God Forbid.

Don’t be arrogant about anything. Don’t look down on anyone thinking that you are better than them.  It won’t take God a second to take everything away from you. But God forbid that for you. When you are blessed, don’t mock anyone.

Is there anything that you have that was not given to you? Nothing and absolutely nothing. Don’t puff up yourself about anything.

There are some people in the Bible who made use of the privileges that was given to them and use it very well. And there are some that abused the privileges given to them.

I pray that you make use of yours well.

Examples of those that used the privilege given to them well in the Bible;

1. Hannah - 1 Samuel 1:23-28; Hannah didn’t take the privilege of having a child(ren) for granted.

2. Naaman - 2 Kings 5:2-4; Naaman maximized the privilege of having the house-help at his house.

3. Mary (Mother of Jesus) - Luke 2:1; She was privileged to have a son through the Holy Spirit.

She didn’t take it for granted; she took care of him and taught him the ways of God.

4. Paul knows where he was coming from and gave thanks to God; Paul went about preaching the gospel. He kept on preaching and say No one will stop him for the sake of Christ. Paul didn’t want people to suffer what he suffered; so he preached the good news and never stopped preaching it.

Examples of those that people  misused the privilege that was given to them;

Don’t judge anyone but judge yourself.

1. Gehazi misused the privilege given to him - 2 Kings 5:15-27.

2. Jezebel was a princess and a Queen but ended badly. 2 Kings 9:30.

3. Haman - Esther 3:2.

4. Judas Iscariot: He was the treasurer to Jesus. John 12:4-6, Matt 27:3-5.

What is it that you have that has not been given to you? What is it that you have that God did not instill in you. All these things are privileges.

All of us have misused one privilege or the other. Ask for God’s mercy today and pray that God restores every lost opportunity.

It is a privilege to be born again.

If you are not born again or yet to surrender absolutely to him or there are some restitution you need to make, then turn to Jesus today.

ACCEPT JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR and be SAVED.

Prayer Point.

1. Father, I might have come empty; please do not let me return empty.

2. Father, please have mercy on me in all areas I have misused the privileges given to me.

3. Father, please locate and dry up the source of my problem.

4. Father, everything that you have to do to get me to where you want me, please do it.
