TOPIC: DIVINE COMMENDATION

There is Divine Recommendation; In 1 Samuel 16:12, God recommended David to Samuel.
There is Divine Condemnation – John 3:18.

Finally, there is Divine Commendation;
To commend is to express approval of.
To commend is to present as worthy of.
To commend is to express good opinion of.
Are your actions commendable or condemnable? Proverbs 12:8.

The Bible has the records of people who received divine commendation for their good deeds/works.



What can provoke divine commendation?
1.       Thanksgiving/Gratitude towards God: This is a divine expectation; God deserves and desires it. In Luke 17:12-19, one out of ten lepers that was healed by Jesus returned to show appreciation. He was commended and also received an additional miracle (wholeness). 1 Thessalonians 5:18.
2.       Sacrificial Giving: In Mark 12:42-44, a poor widow who gave 2 mites received divine commendation for her sacrificial giving – she gave all that she had.
3.       Faithfulness and Diligence: In Matthew 25:14-30, two servants were commended for their diligence and faithfulness. Proverbs 22:29.
4.       Family Responsibility/Commitment: In Genesis 18:19, Abraham was commended for how committed he was to his family. 1Timothy 5:8, Proverbs 22:6.
5.       Doing and Saying Things that Please God: Solomon received divine commendation when he said things that pleased God – 1Kings 3:10-15. Solomon’s request pleased God.
6.       Faith in God: In Matthew 8:5-10, A centurion whose servant was sick of palsy received divine commendation for his faith in Jesus. Mark 9:23, Mark 5:25-34, Matthew 15:21-28.


PRAYER POINTS
1.       Father, pls have mercy on me in Jesus’ name.
2.       Father, please give me the grace to do things that will please you in Jesus’ name.
3.       Father, bless me and make me a blessing in Jesus’ name.
