Pastor J.T. Kalejaiye - A Pot Of Oil

TOPIC: A POT OF OIL
TEXT: 2 KINGS 4:1&2
PREACHER: PASTOR J.T. KALEJAIYE

This may not be relevant to you but to a particular fellow, it was the beginning of her breakthrough. According to the passage, a widow had a big problem, she owed and her creditor wanted to take her two sons away because of her inability to pay her debt. She desired money urgently so she ran to a man of God. The man of God asked her what she had and she said she had a pot of oil. To the widow, the pot of oil was the available and with the available, she got the desirable.
What do you have? What you have presently is the available and what you want is the desirable. With the available, one can possess the desirable.
How can we provoke the desirable? It is by using the available.
God is not a magician, He is a miracle worker; he expects you to use what you want to possess the desirable.
·         In 1 Kings 17:8-16, a poor widow had a meal which she called her last meal; she released the meal before she got the desirable. After she gave her last meal to Elijah, she moved from the class of not enough to the class of more than enough. The woman used what she had before she got what she desired.

·         In Matthew 17:27, Peter had a challenge and Jesus intervened.  He told Peter to use his hook which he did and he got the desirable. Peter used the available to provoke the desirable; he used his took to find the fish before he got the needed money.
·         In Luke 5:1-7, Peter had a net (the available), Jesus told him to let it down in order to provoke the desirable. Peter obeyed; he used what he had to get what he desired.
·         In Mark 10:46-42, Bartemeus was blind but he used what he had (his mouth) to make an emergency cry. His cry attracted Jesus and he got his miracle; he used the available to provoke the desirable.
·         In 2 Kings 2:8, Elijah desired to cross the Jordan river; he had no boat and he couldn’t swim across the river but he used the mantle in his hand to divide the Jordan river. Elijah used the available before he got the desirable.

The available can be your gift/talent given to you by God; please use it and the desirable will be available unto you.
As a worker, work very hard to provoke the desirable – Proverbs 12:34, Proverbs 22:29.
When you stop pressing forward, you become the oppressed.
Use the available and you will obtain the desirable; the available is like a seed, if you plant it, it will germinate and produce fruits for you to harvest.
The available is like a bridge, it will connect you to your destination.
The available is like an elevator, it will take you to the next level.
The available is like a key, it can open doors for you if you use it; a used key can never rust.
The available is like a net, if you cast it, it will catch other blessings.

Brethren, what do you have? Use what you have to get what you want. Remember, there must be discovery before a recovery….
