Pastor J.T. Kalejaiye - Make God Happy

TOPIC: MAKE GOD HAPPY
TEXT: 1 KINGS 3:4-13
PREACHER: PASTOR J.T. KALEJAIYE

This is an appeal. It is practicable and profitable.
If you make God happy, He will surely make you happy.
God can be happy. In other words, He can be pleased.
He can also be angry and displeased – Psalm 7:11b, Romans 8:8. Hebrews 11:6
Hebrews 13:6 tells us that anytime we do good, we make God happy. Both earthly and eternal rewards await those that make God happy.

According to the bible text, Solomon made God happy and God made him happy in return.

-          Solomon’s offering made God happy; it was an uncommon offering. After the sacrifice, God appeared to Solomon and gave him a blank cheque.
-          Another reason for God’s happiness towards Solomon was his humility. He humbled himself before God by telling his true identity, claiming to be a little child – 1 Kings 3:7. This, in turn made God happy. Like Solomon, in Luke 5:8. Peter humbled himself before Jesus. Further examples are in Matthew 15:22-28, Matthew 8:8a. Their humilities pleased God and He granted their desires.
-          Solomon showed gratitude to God which also made God happy. An attitude of gratitude will always take one to a higher altitude.
-          Solomon’s request for an understanding heart and wisdom to deliver the right justice made God happy – 1 Kings 3:10 pleased God and his requests were granted – 1 Kings 3:12&13.

Therefore, making God happy guarantees happiness, answers to requests and exceeding of expectations. Solomon’s quality/uncommon offering/sacrifice made God happy, little wonder he richly blessed with uncommon riches.
