Greater than Silver and Gold

TOPIC: GREATER THAN SILVER AND GOLD
TEXT: ACTS 3:1-10
PREACHER: PASTOR J.T KALEJAIYE

Silver is good, gold is precious but the name of Jesus is greater than both. The name of Jesus can do what silver and gold (money) cannot do. For example:
         • Money can bed, but it cannot buy sleep
         • Money can buy tablets but it cannot buy good health
         • Money can buy food but it cannot buy appetite
         • Money can give you titles but it cannot give you mantle.
The above bible passage contains some important revelation. Some of which are as follows;
         1. The lame man had a terrible background but God did not allow his background to put him on the ground. The man was crippled from his mother’s womb. Problems can manifest from different sources. They can be invited, inherited, one can be afflicted and infected with problems.
 PRAYER: Every problem that followed you to this sanctuary will receive a divine solution in Jesus’ name.

         2. Not all problems are bad. Some are good and desirable. The lame man had a good problem. A problem is considered good if it leads to a miracle. Also, a problem is considered good if it leads one to Christ. The lame man had a problem that led him to a miracle and to Jesus’ Christ.
 PRAYER: Every problem that is your life and family will lead to a miracle in Jesus’ name.

         3. The lame man was very close to the temple, yet he never enjoyed the power from the temple. Proximity but no encounter. Closeness but no connectivity. Title but no entitlements. Connection but no collection.
PRAYER: You will not be hungry in the kitchen in Jesus’ name.

         4. The lame man had an expectation and he was expectant. He desired money when he saw Peter and John, he asked for alms. Do you have any expectation? Then, tell it to Jesus – John 14:14. Those who cry unto God will never cry unto man. Proverbs 23:18, Psalm 9:18

         5. The lame man encountered Peter and John. He had met many people before he encountered Peter. The people he cried to reacted differently. Some people gave him money while some ignored, mocked and despised him but Peter helped him. Who is your Peter? Your Peter may not necessarily be a man of God but he must be a man from God.
 PRAYER: Before this month expires, you will encounter your Peter and your John in Jesus’ name.

           6. The name of Jesus is greater than silver and gold. Peter had neither silver nor gold to offer the lame man but he used the name of Jesus and the man’s feet and ankle bones received strength. Philippians 2:9-11, Mark 16:17-18, John 14:14.

           7. No condition is permanent. Psalm 30:5b. All your pains will end in praise in Jesus’ name
 The following happened after Peter used the name of Jesus;
     • The lame man was lifted from the position of stagnation and pity
     • The man leaped, jumped and stood • He walked out of limitation. He changed position • He praised God.
     • His life and story advertised Jesus
     • He became relevant.
