The Mouth

TOPIC: THE MOUTH
PREACHER: PASTOR J.T. KALEJAIYE

God formed man perfectly. He gave every man two eyes, two nostrils, two ears, two hands, two legs but “ONE MOUTH”. Have you ever wondered why God gave man one mouth?
·         The mouth is small but it is very powerful and dangerous
·         It can build up and it can pull down
·         It can flatter and it can slander
·         The mouth can bless and it can curse – James 3: 10
·         The mouth can get one polished and it can also get one punished

A fool can be identified easily by the words of his mouth. A wise man speaks because he has something to say but a fool speaks because he has to say something.
1.       The mouth can lead one to destruction: Many people have used their mouths to destroy themselves. Some have used theirs to destroy other people. Going by the law of harvest, those who destroy others shall be destroyed. Proverbs 13:3, Proverbs 18:7, Proverbs 10:14.
2.
The mouth can lead one into troubles: Proverbs 21:23
3.       The mouth can lead one to death: Proverbs 18:21, Proverbs6:2, Proverbs 18:20, Proverbs 14:3. “Reject the devil’s offer, so you can go far”.
4.       The mouth can determine one’s destiny: In other words, your words can determine your world. Matthew 12:37.
5.       The mouth runs errands for the heart: Matthew 12:34.

The following are the scriptural examples of those that used their mouths to destroy themselves.
·         II Samuel 1:1 -16
·         II Samuel 6:14 – 23
·         Numbers 13  “Sometimes, confession provokes possession”

Numbers 14:28b, Matthew 12: 36 & 37, Matthew 15:11
