Pastor J.T. Kalejaiye - Be A Blessing

TOPIC: BE A BLESSING
PREACHER: PASTOR J.T. KALEJAIYE

Many people desire to be blessed but few people pray to be a blessing.
It is good to be blessed but to be a blessing is better.
To be a blessing means one is willing to affect lives positively.
Being a blessing provokes more blessings – Proverbs 11:24&25, Luke 6:38.

In ACTS 4:34-37, the early church expressed and experienced genuine affection. Those that had houses and lands sold them and took the proceeds to the Apostles and distribution was made to every man as he had need. None of them suffered lack; there was no racial discrimination and no class distinction.
Abraham was a blessing; for his sake, God blessed his seeds exceedingly – Genesis 26:5&24.

JOSEPH was a blessing. Everywhere he went, he affected people positively;
·         Joseph was a blessing to Potiphar and his household – Genesis 39:5.
·         Joseph was blessing to the chief butler – Genesis 40:8-21, he helped the butler interpret his dream of restoration.

·         Joseph was a blessing to king Pharaoh and his kingdom: he helped the king interpret his dreams of scarcity and abundance; he helped Egypt generate huge resources during the time of famine.
·         Joseph was a blessing to his family – Genesis 47:12, he fed and accommodated them.

Brethren, God expect us to be a blessing to;
·         Our Enemies – Romans 12:20
·         The Poor – Proverbs 19:20, Proverbs 28:27.
·         Our Neighbors – Luke 10:30-36; A Samaritan was a blessing to a wounded man and he was commended for his hospitality.
·         Our Family – 1Timothy 5:8.
·         Our Community.
·         Our Parents
Acts 10:38 tells us that everywhere Jesus went, he was a blessing;
You can be a blessing by preaching to others
You can be blessing by correcting or rebuking those that are about to derail.
You can be a blessing by not sparing the rod on your children because if you spare the rod, you spoil the child.
You can be a blessing by encouraging those that are discouraged.
God has blessed you so that you can be a blessing to others.
God has lifted you so that you can help others to get to the top; do not damage the ladder that took you up, make it available for other people.
