Pastor J.T. Kalejaiye- Look On Us

Topic: LOOK ON US
Text: ACTS 3: 1- 8
Preacher: PASTOR J.T. KALEJAIYE

It is possible to look down - Peter did and he began to sink in Matthew 4:30.
It is possible to look around; if you look around you will be distracted; you will see the good, the bad and the ugly.
It is possible to look back- In Genesis 19:26, Lot's wife looked back and she became a pillar of salt. Luke 9:62.
Finally, it is possible and very profitable to look up or look unto Jesus - Psalm 34:5, Hebrew 12:2a
many eyes look but few eyes see.
Look onto Jesus in all situations because all other ground is sinking sand. Jesus never fails, He never forgets, He never disappoints His own and He never forsakes.

The bible passage tells us about a crippled beggar whose head office was situated at the beautiful gate. Majority of us out there have certain things in common with the crippled beggar at the beautiful gate;
1. The man lost his original identity (He lost his name)- The bible referred to him as a certain man; whenever people want to address him, they call him by the reproach in his life. Another example of someone that lost his identity is the "woman with the issue of blood".
2. The man had a good problem- There are good problems and there are bad problems A problem is considered good if it led you to a miracle; a problem is considered good if it led one to Christ.
3. The man was very close to the temple, yet he never experienced the power from the temple - Proximity but no encounter; closeness but no benefit; title but no entitlement; position but no possession; revenue without revelation. The man was ugly at the beautiful gate.
4. The man was in the school of expectation- Are you expecting something from God? if yes, then you are in the school of expectation.
The man encountered Peter (his Helper)-  The man encounters various men an women on a daily basis but none of them could help him. But the day he located Peter, his story changed. Who and Where is your Peter?
NB: Your own Peter may not necessarily be a man of God but he must be a man from God.
5. The man got more than he desired/expected-  Peter said to the man "LOOK ON US". The man was expecting money or material gift but God gave him what money cannot buy. God exceeded his desires. God can give you the exact thing you desire; He can also exceed your expectation - Ephesians 3:20.

After the man encountered Peter (his helper);
1. His problem of over 40years expired.
2. He changed position - he moved out of stagnation/limitation.
3. The man was lifted.
4. He entered the temple for the first time.
