Topic: Be a Good Influencer

An influencer is a person that has the power or ability to influence other people. There are good influencers and there are bad influencers.
Success in life is not only about material possessions or the degrees one have, it is also about the number of people you have been able to affect positively.
The bible has the records of influence people had on some other people, some were good influence and some were bad influence.
Bad Influencers
- Herodias, the wife of King Herod was a bad influencer. For her sake, John the Baptist was beheaded - Mark 6:17. John rebuked Herod because he married Philip's wife (Philip was Herod's brother). Herodias wanted John's dead and she succeeded.
- Jonah was a bad influence on the Mariner who was in the same sheep with him. For his sake the mariner and others suffered a mighty tempest that almost broke the ship - Jonah 1:12. As soon as Jonah was cast into the sea, there was calmness - Mathew 15:13.
- Mrs Potiphar was a bad influencer. For her sake, Joseph became a prisoner even for the sins he didn't commit.
- Gehazi was a bad influencer. For his sake, he brought a permanent reproach (leprosy) upon his seeds - 2 Kings 5:27a.
Good Influencers
- Joseph was a good influencer. Everywhere he went, he affected the lives of people positively. Genesis 39:5; For Joseph's sake, the blessings of the Lord was upon all that he had in the house and in the field. Be a good influencer, let your life affect others positively.
- Abraham was a good influencer. For his sake, God blessed Isaac and his seeds - Genesis 26:3-4. God made fantastic promises to Isaac because Abraham his father, obeyed God's voice, kept God's laws, and kept God's commandments/statutes - Genesis 26:24, Abraham planted good seeds which Isaac and his children harvested.
- Jonathan the son of Saul was a good influencer. David blessed Mephibosheth for Jonathan's sake. Mephibosheth would have suffered limitation and stagnation because of his physical ability (he was lame on both legs) but for his father's sake, he ate on the same table with the king, 2 Samuel 9:1&7, 2 Samuel 9:13.
- Rehab the harlot was a good influencer. For her sake, her people escaped death. Though she was a harlot, that was a sin but she was compensated for hiding the messengers which Joshua sent to spy Jericho. For her sake, her people were spared - Joshua 6:17-27.
- Jacob was a good influencer to Laban - Genesis 30:27.
- Jesus Christ was a good influencer. For His sake, you and I are beneficiaries - Ephesians 4:32, 1 John 2:12. Jesus was a good influencer, everywhere He went, He was doing good. Acts 10:38 - Jesus was going about doing good, healing all that were oppressed of the devil for God was with Him.
* He suffered for us to enjoy
* He paid a price so that we may win the prize
* He died for us to live
* He was rich but became poor for us to be rich.
How many life have you affected positively?
If you are not a good influencer, why do you call yourself a Christian? Let your life affect others positively. Be a blessing and a good influencer to people. Be a good influence on anyone you come across in life. Let people benefit from your position, your connection and your wealth. Be a good influencer, affect lives positively.
The house you live in, somebody built it if they have not built it, where will you be living today. The clothes you are putting on today, some people made them, if they have not made them, you won't be putting on any clothes today.
What have you done that others can point at? Be a good influence. Affect the life of people positively. Anything you don't want your children to do, don't do it. Whatever you see people doing that does not agree with common sense, please excuse yourself.
If you want God to help you, you need to surrender to Jesus first and you make it easy for Him to settle the crises in your life. If you want God to help you, you need to come now to surrender your life to Jesus Christ.
Ask God for Mercy, ask Him to wash you clean by His precious blood, ask Him to accept you as His son and forgive you all your sins and ask Him to remove every embargo in the foundation of your life.

- Thank God for His investments upon your life.
- Father please make me relevant in my family, in your church and in my office in Jesus name.
- Father please bless me and make me a blessing to my generation in Jesus name.
- Father please help me to influence others positively in Jesus name.
